Special Sunday afternoon showing
February 12th, doors at 2:30pm, movie at 3:00pm, discussion follows
NE Minneapolis' studio-cinema kicks off a special mid-month screening one week after the super bowl, February 12th from 3-5pm, with the Oscar winning doc, "Inside Job". The director, Craig Ferguson's first film "No End In Sight" was a scathing critic of the Bush Administration's war machine which Casket Cinema screened in 2009. "Inside Job" goes places the mass media has failed to and investigates the 2008 Wall St. collapse. This doc was likely a stimulus for the Occupy movement and still inspires the 99% today.
Moveon.org says, "Millions of Americans lost their homes and jobs—and it didn't just happen by chance. In an eye-opening documentary called Inside Job, director Charles Ferguson exposes how the economic crisis happened—and names the politicians and Wall Street bankers who caused it.
To make sure we know which politicians are with us, the 99%—and which ones are with the 1%—we need to deepen our understanding of what Wall Street did and how the political system failed us. That's why thousands of us will gather in living rooms nationwide to grow, learn, and connect locally.
After the film, we'll talk about how we can strengthen the 99% locally and make the economy work for all of us."
So, for all of you who can't make our thursday showing, this one is for you! We are collaborating with moveon.org to host this screening and hope you can make it.

From Academy Award® nominated filmmaker, Charles Ferguson ("No End In Sight"), comes INSIDE JOB, the first film to expose the shocking truth behind the economic crisis of 2008. The global financial meltdown, at a cost of over $20 trillion, resulted in millions of people losing their homes and jobs. Through extensive research and interviews with major financial insiders, politicians and journalists, INSIDE JOB traces the rise of a rogue industry and unveils the corrosive relationships which have corrupted politics, regulation and academia. Narrated by Academy Award® winner Matt Damon, INSIDE JOB was made on location in the United States, Iceland, England, France, Singapore, and China.
