Trampoline DVD on Indiegogo

Tuesday, June 5, 2012 - 11:00pm

Dear friends of Casket Cinema,

Many of you know me as one of the hosts of Casket Cinema.  Recently, I began a personal fundraiser to put out my movie, "Trampoline" out on dvd and instant download. Some of you know in 2010, I premiered this film at the San Francisco Docfest and to a sold-out house at the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival. Now I am about to self-distribute the movie on DVD and video-on-demand June 15th

To accomplish this, however, I need your help! I need your support, buzz, and hype to make this release a successful one. You can help by contributing at the starting level of $20 or at the sustaining level of $50, $100, or $500. Who will be the first to contribute?

  • $20 gets you the DVD and a code to download the film online.
  • $50 gets you a signed DVD, Trampoline t-shirt, stickers, and online download.
  • $100 gets you 10 copies of the DVD to distribute to your friends and network.
  • $500 gets you all of the above and a screening of the film with the director as well.

This release is important to me, not just because I’ve spent almost eight years on this project, but because I really feel that this family’s story is vital to share with others. It’s the story of two parents growing apart and eventually separating from each other, all while trying to do their best for four wonderful and creative—though often out of control—children. As a reviewer in San Francisco noted, this film shows “a Minnesota family’s rawest and most intimate moments.” I believe that thanks to the bravery of this family, we can all learn from another’s experiences and mistakes. This film can be the starting point for a constructive and positive discussion about how adults relate to each other and how we raise our children.

Your support of this film will help it find a larger audience. Viewers at film festivals have told me that all families with teenagers need to see this film, that it should be shown in high schools and at PTA meetings. This release will thrust this film out into the world.

So far we have raised over $1400 online out of $2,800 needed for the release. This money will go to printing the DVDs, if we raise any extra funds those will go to help with the costs of the party at Channel Z edit.

I am so excited to be able to offer this to my network of friends, my supporters, and my community. I know a lot of you have wanted this film out on disc, and it is finally happening.

If you want to help but can’t make a cash contribution, I will also need help at my studio getting the details ready for the film release!

This will all culminate with a big party at Channel Z Edit on June 15, 2012. Please save the date. I’m really excited to see everyone there!
