For October 9th, Casket Cinema runs across the border to screen the award winning environmental film, "Heart of Sky, Heart of Earth". The documentary looks thru a different lens and finds a modern Mayan perspective in Central America.
The seven Mayans in the film detail the abuses and hardships they are suffering at the hands of globalization. Casket Cinema programmer Mark Wojahn is very interested in the film's non western honest point of view as the Mayans frankly talk to a german film crew about their "cosmovision, in which all life is sacred and interconnected". This filmmakers have asked that their film to be introduced by an indigenous person.
Special guests are TBA and will be joined with Casket Cinema co-founder/host Mark Wojahn in a Q&A after the film.
