Next up in November at Casket Cinema is the MN made thriller “Abroad”. Filmed along the North Shore in 2021, Abroad tells the story of a Korean tourists, Taemin and Minji, in the state to see the Northern Lights. But things go south quickly and Minji mysteriously disappears, Taemin becomes the main suspect, this turns into a desperate search of his girlfriend and a fight to stay alive. This film won Best Actor and Audience award at its’ Korean Premiere at BIFAN, the actors speak in Korean & English.
‘Abroad’ is beautifully shot by DoP Bo Hakala and tightly directed by Giovanni Fumu. It was produced by Maximilian Selim and production designed by Casket Cinema co-founder Mark Wojahn. Wojahn will moderate an art dept panel with Decorator Melissa Pritchett, SFX head Tiny Proctor and Propmaster Jason Thomas. They will discuss what it took to create the magic behind the scenes of this mystery drama.
This film will play on November 7th at 8pm. This will be a very intriguing event of a local film but with an international cast. The Q&A will be a ripe salon for all folks who love how movies are made.
