Casket Cinema invites you to visit the Minneapolis St. Paul Film Fest this April as co-founder Mark Wojahn has a World Premiere of his film, The Dance Is Not Over. There will be two showings; April 8th at 7:05pm, and a second screening on April 10th at 1:15 pm.
The Dance Is Not Over, is Wojahn’s story on the life and work of MN dancer, choreographer, and storyteller Patrick Scully. It was filmed over six years and framed around the rehearsals of Scully’s dance company as they rehearse for their sold out shows at the Guthrie theater. Filmed in beautiful 4K resolution by cinematographer Gregory Winter, the movie zooms in on secrets of Scully’s; Early years, as he finds his movement in Contact Improv, dances with Remy Charlip in New York, founds Patrick’s Cabaretin Minneapolis, battles the 90’s culture wars, and presents his homoerotic personification of Walt Whitman in “Leaves of Grass: Illuminated”.
