Heart of Sky, Heart of Earth
For October 9th, Casket Cinema runs across the border to screen the award winning environmental film, "Heart of Sky, Heart of Earth". The documentary looks thru a different lens and finds a modern Mayan perspective in Central America.
Fixation
"Fixation" is a real documentary, focusing on the thrilling world of fixed gear cycling. This film captures the excitement and popularity of this growing sport from all perspectives. With the resurgence of this original form of cycling, we discover the appeal to having only one gear. Though technology has developed multiple speed bicycles, for faster and easier riding, both fixed and freewheel single speeds continue to have a strong following. The range of riders is vast, from professionals to the casual everyday rider.

Here Comes The Sun
On December 5th, 8pm Casket Cinema will present HERE COMES THE SUN, the award winning documentary on solar power by Dutch TV. This video goes in depth on the amazing progress being made across the pond in solar energy. It is an important investigation in this field with some of the architects of the movement. We will also screen a clip from the local renewable video HOW TO BUILD A STRAW BALE HOUSE.
The Price of Sand
On November 7th, 8pm Casket Cinema will present THE PRICE OF SAND, the new documentary on Wisconsin Sand mining by local director Jim Tittle. The movie goes in depth on how a mine opened in western part of the state and quickly divided the community. It is a very personal and important investigation of mining, community, business and quality of life. The director will be present afterwards to talk with Mark Wojahn and other special guests. The Q&A takes the mission in the movie farther. We believe in sitting down and talking about issues is part of our responsibility as citizens.
